Virtual Divorce Mediation During COVID-19
The Orange County Family Law Court is temporarily closed through June 1, 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that all non-emergency matters through June 1 are being continued by order of the Court.
No court, no problem. Yesterday, we finalized a divorce agreement for a couple with children, a thriving business, and significant retirement portfolios. We started working with this couple just before COVID-19 shut down the courts. We mediated by video and phone. The couple has already begun dividing up their assets and debts according to their agreement.
This is the time, more than ever, to consider mediating your divorce. When you choose to go through the court system, you are deciding to subject yourself to the rules and timeline of an exceedingly overloaded court system.
A huge volume of “non-emergency” divorce cases are on pause because the courts are on pause.
We are here to help you with your divorce from start to finish, even while the courts are closed. We already service most of our clients virtually by:
providing online intake forms and folders;
allowing for e-signing any documents (except those that need to be notarized);
conducting video or phone mediations and meetings, as needed.
Don’t let the pandemic stop you from moving on with your life. Reach out to us at info@cordiallaw.com or call us at 949-705-4391.
